this was the last song written for this new batch of music, and quickest track to start sounding good upon recording
i love how the band sounds on this one, alex's fills throughout, and we had alot of fun tracking the intro and all of those splattery parts
i wrote the song in about 20 minutes before going to bed one night and then the lyrics at a much later date, reflecting on things which are better illustrated in the accompanying music video, "unlimited opportunities/somewhere in dreamland"
lyrics
fill a role,
let up all
take the beat
and we're all sent back with a sterile heart
but we were laying traps
synchronized new paths
we chipped away our teeth, now we're all red/clean
start up small
embrace the grate
imperfect love
its as close as you come
we were laying traps
syncronizing paths
chipped away our teethnow we're all red/clean
never thought we'd see thistime honored efficiency end
only up in flames
but we’re all too tired to start a thing
funny what you'll accept, as if there is nothing left
we laughed at all costs
